Cost or Value

 

In these technologically advanced times where we find that our children are better prepared to handle the daily challenges of our life ,because we haven’t the time nor the interest to keep up with all the gadgets and gizmos that permeate our environment. Where we might even find ourselves having to pick up and read an instruction manual or owners guide from time to time, because we still haven’t grasped the complexities of this or that DVR (digital video recorder), blue ray player or so and so gaming console. In fact, if it weren’t for our children, nieces or grandchildren the display on the “old” VCR might still be flashing 12:00.

Have you noticed that in a very short time period we are presented with a new item or device that is the latest advancement in technology and it is inferred that without it the quality of our lives would  in peril.

What’s happening around or I should say to us, that if something is not new, improved, the latest model or shiny new formula  we simply cannot do without it.  Where are the appliances, toys or devices  that used to last almost forever . Where are the things that had  a certain cost but as time passed we also learned to really appreciate  their value . Does anything like this exist anymore or are we condemned to live a life segmented by itty bitty pieces  or small slices of so called contentment.

If this were true then we might state that all we have is a mere sad existence, but we know better.

You may even ask ,where are the forever’s, the always, the until the end of time….

Let me point out , You and I were not created to merely exist but to live life and live it more abundantly (…I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more  abundantly.     John 10:10).

Our lives just might be a slither of time in the continuum but our essence or I should say, our souls are eternal and as such each and every soul has an incalculable value that we cannot fathom. In fact, the value of our souls is such that our heavenly father gave us his son as the perfect sacrifice and in this manner pay for the cost of our sins with his life.  (For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  John 3:16)

Now that we know the cost of his sacrifice and the value of his redemption don’t you think that it is time that we use this opportunity to set the “display” of lives on the correct time with our creator…

Let us pray. Father I thank you for your love and for the sacrifice of your son on the cross at Calvary. I recognize that I am a sinner and as such I need your forgiveness though Jesus Christ. Wash me of my sins and write my name in the book of live , fill me with your Holy Ghost in the name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ , Amen.
Now get ready to really live life in Jesus, read his word, the Bible (His owners guide) and fellowship.
